Excellent sound quality. Like that the cover comes down all the way over the record while playing so my cat can’t get to it. I’ve seen some that don’t.
I purchased this for my teenage grandaughter for XMAS. We opened it and the turntable lid was cracked. We went ahead set it up and tested it. She was VERY satisfied with the sound and features. Rather then everyone endure the costs of a return I contacted the distributor, [****], and requested a lid replacement. The response was quick and the requested replacement was received in a well protected package. Problems can occur with any purchase. In this situation all concerned properly responded to a problem and everyone saved time, effort and money.

I bought this for my teen daughter last Christmas and it is still going strong. She uses it nearly every day. Sound quality is good for the cost. Looks nice and doesn’t take up too much space. If you want a simple turntable, it’s a good investment at a fair price.

I'll start by saying that I don't know much about vinyl records or record players, but I just got a bunch of old records from my mom and I want to hear them. The record player came in and I was rocking with Jim Croce and noticed some silence. I put it down to the old record, but when I bought a brand new record it had the same problem. I started reading the manual and found that I never received the counterweight. I contacted the company and they responded within 24 hours and delivered the weights for free within 4 days! Wow! ! ! retrolife hits a home run with this one. I bought a record player from retrolife a year ago and always thought it was a beautiful device that sounded good but didn't wow me. I sold it and moved on, I saw this on youtube the other day and I started working on it, I was intrigued, compared specs, reviews and dig into the watch. I waited for weeks and finally received the goods. In my opinion, they did. Everything about this turntable is good, clarity, and there is no built-in preamp to interfere with the sound. I love this record player! Been researching, researching and comparing different record players for about a year. Finally getting ready to buy one, I decided to buy this one. As most of the reviews I've read here, it seems to be the best value I can find. Of course, be careful to take everything out of the box and don't open anything out of the plastic until you follow the setup instructions, which are easy to follow, or they also have a video you can watch.
First, let me start by saying that I'm no stranger to the vinyl world. I've been collecting vinyl records since the early '60s. Of course, something was needed to turn the vinyl records, so I've owned a few turntables over the years. Direct drive, belt drive and rim drive. Pioneer, Dual, Technics, Garrard and even Marantz I still have some of these but they are getting old. I'll restore them as time and money allow, but I recently set up a new system using vintage Pioneer receivers to drive a pair of vintage Advent speakers I recently rebuilt. My Dual 1229 is working fine, but I want to get myself a new turntable. So start looking. Finally decided to buy retrolife products. Received it so much better than I expected, the sound quality is great, I think I use it every day, it is durable, I would highly recommend it.

I have to say I bought another record player from the same brand but it was about half the price of this one. I don't li@ke it because of the poor sound quality. This retrolife has exceeded all my expectations! Sound, and even the stylish look of wood! I had a very small problem with my metal plate and customer service responded very quickly and gave me a very simple solution. They are very friendly and they make it very easy. This is by far the best purchase I've ever made. If you love your vinyl records as much as I do, you'll love this setup! Great for beginners and even better for family gatherings. The speakers themselves sound good, as I'd expect, just lacking a bit of bass. That's not a problem for me as I hate that they overpower the bass and you can feel it through the floor. If that's your thing, you're in luck because you can still upgrade the speaker to something bigger. has its connections. Not digital, but some 90s JBL would work. Or you can even use a Bluetooth connection for a wireless speaker setup.
I've never listened to a lot of records before, but my wife has always had a lot of them. Her father gave her an old Kenwood unit, but the speakers were terrible, it would get super hot and consume a lot of the amp. So we gave it back to her and I bought her this for her birthday. It's easy to get it set up right, and once you get it dialed in, it works great. Sound quality is great. The music was loud and it filled our bedroom nicely. It is a HiFi turntable, and it also has Bluetooth function. I haven't tried the bluetooth feature because I never thought about it, but it's another nice feature.
I want to upgrade from my old record player. My old version was cheaply built with plastic pans and fake wood looks and had poor sound quality. Fantastic turntable that actually fits in my bookshelf! I was pleasantly surprised by every feature of this record player from retrolife, it has an excellent crisp and clear sound that is very loud. Excellent build quality and very stable. Really like the way it looks. It's going to take some time to set it up, but it's not that hard. I'm also impressed with the extra touches of the great packaging (everything is pristine) and the classic look as well as the great build quality (which makes it very stable). I would definitely recommend to others.
