Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our turntables
  • First, turn on your Bluetooth speaker and activate pairing mode. Next, enable Bluetooth output on your turntable and wait for the devices to connect. For easier pairing and a more stable connection, place the speaker right next to the turntable during setup. Once connected, you can move the speaker to your preferred listening spot within the Bluetooth connection range. Play a record and adjust the volume to your liking.

  • Yes. A Bluetooth output turntable can connect to compatible Bluetooth headphones, allowing you to listen to your records privately.

  • Many Retrolife Bluetooth output turntables use Bluetooth 5.0 or similar Bluetooth technology, offering convenient wireless audio streaming to compatible speakers and headphones. Bluetooth specifications may vary by model, so check the individual product listing for exact details.

  • A typical Bluetooth connection can reach around 10 meters (33 feet) in an open space. Walls, furniture, and wireless interference can reduce the effective range. For a more stable connection, place your turntable and Bluetooth speaker within 10 meters of each other and minimize obstacles between them.

  • Start by checking these 4 things:

    1. Make sure the speaker is powered on and in pairing mode.
    2. Confirm that Bluetooth output is enabled on the turntable.
    3. Disconnect the speaker from another phone or device if it is already connected.
    4. Keep the turntable and speaker within approximately 10 meters (33 feet), with as few obstacles as possible.

If the devices still won't pair, restart both devices and follow the instructions for your specific model.

  • If your turntable connects to a nearby Bluetooth device by mistake, turn off Bluetooth on that device if possible, or disconnect it from your turntable. Then put your own Bluetooth speaker or headphones into pairing mode and place them right next to the turntable. Restart Bluetooth pairing and wait for your intended device to connect before playing a record.

To help prevent accidental connections, keep your own speaker or headphones nearby during pairing and turn off unused Bluetooth devices in the surrounding area when possible. If the problem continues, consult your turntable's user manual for model-specific pairing instructions.

  • A wired RCA connection generally preserves a more direct audio signal, while Bluetooth converts the audio for wireless transmission and may apply lossy compression. The difference you hear depends on the turntable, Bluetooth codec, speakers, and recording. Choose Bluetooth for a cleaner setup without speaker cables, or use a compatible wired connection if your priority is getting the most direct signal from your vinyl.

  • Not every soundbar or smart speaker can connect directly to a Bluetooth output turntable. Compatibility depends on the model and its supported audio inputs.

For example, the Sonos Five supports a wired line-in connection, while the Sonos Era 100 supports Bluetooth audio streaming and can also accept a wired audio source through a compatible line-in adapter. Sonos systems that rely on Wi-Fi and the Sonos app may require a specific connection method rather than a standard Bluetooth pairing.

For high-powered speaker systems, home theater setups, or speakers without compatible Bluetooth audio input, we recommend using a wired RCA connection when supported. RCA sends an analog audio signal directly to compatible audio equipment, avoiding Bluetooth pairing and wireless interference.

Before purchasing, check your speaker's exact model and input options. If you're using a Sonos system, confirm whether it supports Bluetooth audio reception or requires a line-in connection and the appropriate adapter.
